With the winds out of the west today we decided to fish the deep passes for snook. The first spot we stopped at was a deep point in the pass were the Tide was falling the bait we were using were smoke colored riptide jigs . On our first several casts we hooked and landed several nice snook to 10 lbs . As the rest of the day went on we scored with many more snook with a few redfish mixed in . For being a windy day in the everglades the fishing was good

With the heat in the afternoon reaching the mid 90’s we have been leaving my dock in everglades city at day light to beat the heat . On our way down south we stop and netted some nice size pilchards to use for snook bait . The first spot we stop at was and oyster bar were the water was rising and the snook were on the bite we caught several nice snook that average 7 -14 lbs . As the rest of the day went on the snook fishing stayed hot catching a good number of snook. This time of year in the everglades is when the snook fishing is at its best
