Todays everglades report

March 31, 2008

phpxxnr7jpm.jpgToday report starts off with wind and a lot of it .The wind blew hard out of the east across the everglades today. When we left my dock out of everglades city we headed to a bait spot and netted a bunch of nice pilchards . After the bait-well was full we headed way down south to snook fish .With a slow rising tide we fished around some oyster bars were the snook have been hanging out . At our first spot we scored with several small snook up to 22 inch’s. In the afternoon when the tide started to fall the bigger snook turn on, catching some nice ones in the 32 inch range . Overall today’s fishing in the everglades was filled with a lot of wind and some nice snook

phpuqceuuam.jpgFinally the perfect weather moved in no wind clear water and fish every were .We left my dock in everglades city along with 2 other everglades fishing guides on a 3 boat party . When we reached the gulfs edge the water was calm so we ran offshore to get bait . Then hit the grass flats were the trout were hungry and of nice size . After catching several trout we started fishing the mangrove islands were the snook and redfish were on the feed . When we got back to my dock the 2 other everglades guides said they had a great day also . If this weather pattern holds the fishing should remain great in the everglades
